This role provides strategic insight and decision-making support to the Digital & Marketing function. The role also plays a key part of leading the overall Business Performance function working collaboratively to ensure cross functional business impacts are considered and aiding career progression within the analyst and assistant analyst population.
Whats the job
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
- Partner theBoard Director and the 4 Directors
- Provide key insight to the functional directors to drive performance and support business decisions
- B&Q finance lead on the business case development and implementation of the B&Q Marketplace project
- Act as link between Kingfisher and B&Q to understand digital roadmap and impact on the B&Q P&L
- Be the finance representative at Kingfisher and B&Q customer & digital leadership meetings
- Challenge the function to ensure meaningful decisions are made taking account of both short- and long-term impacts
- Develop key assumptions to support short- and long-term planning including advice on trade-offs and opportunities
- Bring clarity of targets and drive accountability of ownership through effective communication MI and performance review
- Track progress against targets throughout the year in order to be able to advise on timely corrective action plans
- Educate and coach commercial teams to improve financial acumen and awareness
- Ensure end to end business ownership across all P&L lines and business areas
- Provide the right level of governance and control over key trading decisions
- Use business knowledge and judgement to prioritise where Finance can most influence risks and opportunities
- Develop strong working relationships and processes with other Finance teams within B&Q and Kingfisher to bring simplicity control and business improvement
- Management and development of one direct report role modelling values and behaviours within Business Performance
- Effective planning and prioritising making decisions about commercial & digital finance team resource and managing stakeholder expectations
- Deputy for Head of Commercial Finance across the Digital & Marketing agenda
What we need:
Required Skills & Experience:
- Post-qualified experience preferably in a fast-paced retail environment
- Ability to problem solve complex issues and recommend actions in a clear and concise manner
- Strong stakeholder management skills working collaboratively and influencing effectively
- Excellent communication skills able to flex style to different audiences
- Resilience in a high-pressured environment with positive attitude to change /ambiguity
- End to end thinker joins up business issues and external factors looking for root causes
