Job Description
The Role
Janitorial/Sanitation Associates will be responsible for both commercial and office general housekeeping including but not limited to sweeping floors cleaning up debris around the warehouse and offices cleaning up standing water floor drains breaking down boxes and recycle scheduled cleaning of hydrocooler ice injector freezer restrooms and lunchroom using a forklift to empty garbage and check for potential pest control issues following all SOPs for each equipment type.
Essential duties but not limited to:
- This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the plant to ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) sanitation procedures and safety guidelines
- Wear always required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Empty all restroom lunchroom and cold room trashcans.
- Maintain cleanliness of the employee lunchrooms and all offices to include sweeping mopping and refrigerator clean out.
- Maintain and sanitize all bathrooms including replenishing any supplies daily.
- Follow and maintain regular cleaning schedules for the ice room warehouse cooler hydrocooler cooler curtains surrounding office spaces and other equipment.
- Clean all drinking water containers including main tank office and facility containers.
- Regular draining and cleaning of sump pumps and floor canal drains.
- Responsible for the completion of the daily cleaning inspection log.
- Must be able to work independently and communicate issues.
Qualifications :
Required Skills and Experience:
- Able to read and speak in both English and Spanish preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift to 50lbs
- Ability to work in freezer environment with below zero temperatures for up to 30 minutes at a time
- 1-year previous warehouse or janitorial/sanitation experience preferred
- 1-year of experience working with cleaning and sanitizing or related chemicals.
- Floor Scrubber Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred
- Decision making/problem solving skills and listening skills.
- Knowledge of sanitation equipment and tools.
- Knowledge of GMPs Food Safety and Sanitation Procedures.
- Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to learn and adhere to proper procedures in safety when working with moving parts.
- Willing to accept change and work in a team-based environment.
- Must be flexible with schedule as shift times could change due to needs of the business (weekends and overtime may be required as part of the normal work schedule.

This is a safety-sensitive position.

Actual compensation will be dependent on factors including but not limited to the individuals qualifications experience knowledge skills and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
