Job Title: HR Generalist
FLSA Status: Exempt salaried
Location: Midland TX or Surrounding area
Job Summary Responsible for human resources practices for the Permian division. Primary focus on employee relations recruitment on-boarding and general HR consultation.
Expectations:Expected to understand employment law and implication of decisions on the business. Self-motivated organized and effective communicator. Must be highly efficient at multi-tasking and prioritizing duties. Requires no supervision. Provides consultation on human resources practices to supervisors.
Essential Duties: and other duties as assigned or necessary.
In collaboration with Recruiter:
- Posts job vacancies manages applicant tracking system (ATS) and all candidate correspondence
- Recruits interviews and assists managers in selecting employees to fill vacant positions.
- Develops interviewing best practices and coordinates the process for supervisors
- Applicant sourcing; maintaining connections with schools associations and other recruiters
- Coordinates pre-boarding process and communication between supervisors and candidates
General HR:
- Plans and conducts new employee on-boarding program to foster positive attitude toward company goals
- Troubleshoots HRIS and works closely with HR team to implement improvements within the software
- Assist supervisors with performance review program to ensure effectiveness compliance and equity within organization
- Conducts job analyses and creates and/or revises job descriptions
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies procedures and programs.
- Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Administers FMLA ADA Workers Comp and return to work for assigned division.
- May conduct training sessions on various HR topics
- Responsible for employment law compliance including posting requirements
- Work well independently and as a team
- Provides excellent customer service
Qualifications
Education/Experience: Bachelors Degree preferred. 2 years of HR experience required
Certifications/Licenses: PHR and/or SHRM-CP highly preferred.
Driving Requirements: Valid drivers license. Travel expected to other company locations in the region.
Physical Requirements Must be able to talk and hear. Requires close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures and view a computer screen. Reach lift and carry up to 10 pounds occasionally. The position is mostly sedentary involving sitting most of the time. Occasionally required to stand and walk.
Work Environment Indoor office setting. Noise level is typically quiet.
Financial Skills Understands the financial implications of business decisions.
Communication Skills Highly effective verbal and written communication skills as well as providing excellent customer service. Understands audience and adjusts communication style appropriately. Proficient at leading employee meetings.
Language Skills: Ability to read interpret and understand documents such as government regulations employment laws policies and procedures. English language fluency in reading writing and speaking. Bi-lingual very beneficial.
Computer Skills Efficiently navigate a web browser mobile applications Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Teams Word SharePoint Access etc.). Must be able to design professional presentations. Experience with HRIS and/or ATS highly preferred.
Work Ethic Be trustworthy dependable respectful and truthful with a commitment to safety and excellent customer service. Follow company policies and procedures and take responsibility for your own actions. Must understand and maintain confidentiality requirements within the HR field.
