Job Description

Position: Intervention Specialist Moderate/Intensive Autism Unit McGuffeyRequested by:Cindy BakerApproved by: Barbara QuackenbushQualifications/Requirements: Applicant must:hold a valid Ohio Education of the Handicapped license/certificate (candidates with multiple Special Education validations preferred or Intervention Specialist Moderate to Intensive) Autism Focusmust have current knowledge or be willing to learn about addressing the needs of students on the Autism Spectrum including use of visual supports social stories and individual task work ( similar to STACK programming)have been trained in STACK or willing to receive trainingplan learning experiences to meet individual student needs utilizing appropriate & current instructional techniques strategies and materialscomplete all IEPs and ETRs to remain compliantpossess a willingness & ability to serve students with a variety of handicapping conditionscollaborate with special & regular education staff students & related service personnel in an alternative service delivery option (ASDO) and be willing to provide information and support to general education teachers regarding the programming needs/adaptations for students with autismhave the ability to be objective flexible & network with staff parents & community agencies in the delivery of services to students with disabilitiespossess strong communication & organizational skillshave the ability to plan & implement a variety of behavior management strategies as well as having familiarity with the process of completing a Functional Behavioral Analysisparticipate in building & district professional development opportunities relating to the education of students with disabilitiesmust be able to structure classroom environment and adapt curriculum and materials for student use- both in resource room and inclusion settingobserve collect analyze and use data to guide instructiondisplay proficiency in assessing student performance and writing IEP goals to address needssupervise class aides and guide their work with studentsbe acceptable to the Building Principal Director of Student Services & Assistant Superintendent of Certificated/Licensed PersonnelEffective Starting Date:2025-2026 school yearAdditional Information: Complete OHReap Application and email resume to
