Position at loanDepot

Position Summary:
Responsible for the day-to-day management of investor repurchase demands including Early Payment Default claims (EPD) Early Payoff claims (EPO) as well as loans identified by loanDepot as impaired or non-salable. This includes reviewing and analyzing loans in the impaired pipeline and recommending corrective actions. Solutions may require collaboration with various departments such as Appraisal Credit Policy Senior Underwriters In-house Counsel and Capital Markets depending on the complexity of the position also provides critical analysis and support to the Capital Markets Group focusing on enterprise-wide loss mitigation.
Responsibilities:
  • Manages and directs all impaired loans in the pipeline coordinating with Capital Markets for investor reallocation referring internally for refinance or as a last resort directing loans to a scratch and dent sale.
  • Ensures all investor repurchase demands are thoroughly reviewed and addressed by the assigned deadlines. This includes researching program requirements to validate or refute repurchase demands and defending Early Payment Default (EPD) claims often in collaboration with the loanDepot servicing team.
  • Oversees the timely review and response to all internally impaired loans ensuring adherence to required timeframes.
  • Handles escalated issues and requests from both investors and internal loanDepot departments.
  • Manages a pipeline of impaired loans while effectively balancing additional tasks as needed.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for the investor delivery team specializing in investor guidelines and delivery requirements.
  • Communicates issues clearly and effectively with both internal and external business partners.
  • Assists the post-closing department with resolving defects related to FHA loans and program violations for conventional loans.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Mortgage industry knowledge within investor repurchase investor delivery disposition and impaired loan experience required.
  • Familiarity with LOS systems. Empower experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Word Excel Outlook etc.
  • Exceptional attention to detail verbal written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High School Degree or equivalent required bachelors degree preferred.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay for this role is between $26.92 and $47.60/hr. Your base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors including your job-related knowledge/skills qualifications experience and market location.
