As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector Infrastructure Platforms-Data Protection product line you will utilize your expertise in software applications and technical processes to propel the progress of infrastructure engineering. Your role involves applying your technical skills and problem-solving abilities to tackle applications of moderate scope playing a crucial part in the development and enhancement of data protection solutions.
Job responsibilities:
- Designs systems that can scale efficiently to handle increased load and demand. This includes capacity planning and performance optimization.
- Implements robust monitoring and observability practices to detect issues before they impact users. This includes setting up alerts dashboards and logging.
- Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale and ensures end to end monitoring of applications
- Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems
- Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses
- Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications
- Be accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications
- Understands service level indicators and utilizes service level objectives to proactively resolve issues before they impact customers
- Manages incidents performs root cause analysis and implements post-mortem processes to learn from failures and prevent them in the future.
- Collaborates with technical experts key stakeholders and team members to resolve complex problems
- Adds to team culture of diversity equity inclusion and respect
Required qualifications capabilities and skills:
- Formal training or certification on backup and recovery solutions concepts and 3 years applied experience.
- Experience with a focus on backup and recovery solutions. 5 years of hands-on experience with Backup solutions in an enterprise environment
- Strong knowledge of Unix/Windows/AIX
- Understanding of enterprise data base Oracle SQL NOSQL Data bases.
- Working knowledge of AWS backups
- Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting in production environment to remediate backup and restore issues
- Experience with capacity planning forecast storage requirements and scale clusters as needed
- Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware networking terminology databases storage engineering deployment practices integration automation scaling resilience and performance assessments
- Strong knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g. Scripting Python etc.)
- Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path
- Experience with multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
- Drives to develop infrastructure engineering knowledge of additional domains data fluency and automation knowledge
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills:
- Experience with Data Protection solutions such as Cohesity or Commvault would be amajor plus
- Flexible for shift work: Sun-Thu 11am-8pm US/CT or Tue-Sat 11am-8pm US/CT
