RENFREW COUNTY DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD

requires a

Facilities Services Officer (2-year pilot)

LOCATION: Primary work location is at the Plant Department Pembroke ON (with travel throughout the county)

HOURS PER WEEK:35 hours per week 12 months per year

SUMMARY:Reporting to the Manager of Facility Services the Facilities Services Officer is an important member within the Facility Services team. The incumbent will be responsible for developing implementing and monitoring a variety of processes.

RATE OF PAY: The annual salary is currently under review.

Skills/ Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in project management or a related field. A combination of education and experience may be considered;

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in construction contracting and/or project management;

  • Certified Associate Project Manager (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset;

  • Demonstrated leadership planning organizational analytical and problem solving skills;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

  • Experience with municipal approval processes consultant/construction contracts and tendering procedures within the broader public sector relevant government regulations the Ontario Building Code and school design would be considered an asset;

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the asset management systems facility condition assessment program;

  • Valid Class G drivers license and reliable vehicle;

  • Ability to work after hours to meet project and system needs as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop implement and monitor the maintenance inspection and renewal of Secondary Tech Shop Equipment;

  • Service Delivery Improvement: Take an active role supporting the Districts efforts to improve service delivery in all areas of facilities responsibilities including capital project delivery;

  • Implement and monitor processes for Annual Inspection and Maintenance Programs ensuring the efficient completion of both internal and regulated annual inspection programs (e.g. fire alarms elevating devices CSS electrical inspections);

  • Develop robust communication protocols to facilitate awareness among school community members regarding facility-related matters particularly inspection schedules and safety procedures;

  • Capital Reporting: Carry out required Ministry of Education reporting of capital expenditures and ensure asset data is accurate. Support the capital priorities planning process using verified information;

  • Energy Consumption Management: Monitor site energy consumption identify anomalies and provide feedback about energy consumption information to schools. Complete annual Greenhouse Gas Reporting;

  • Furniture Strategy: Develop and implement a long-term classroom furniture inventory and replacement strategy to support the evolving needs of the modern classroom;

  • Assist in the development and implementation of a client-focused service delivery model including the development of key performance indicators.
