POSITION SUMMARY:
- Assist the Gator Wellness Centerin answering phone calls mental health agency referrals maintaining the resource library and assisting with the daily operations of the center
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- High School diploma or GED certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English
- Ability to work with children
- Knowledge of computer-based programs (Outlook Excel Google Docs Google Spreadsheet Word eSped Skyward etc.)
- Ability to schedule meetings around several different calendars based on required members
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents/students/DISD staff
- Operate copier and scanner efficiently
Experience:
- A minimum of one year of work experience
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help manage mental health agency referrals and appointments
- Send calendar appointments
- Assist in setting up supporting and communicating with UTMB TCHATT patients
- Copy and/or print documents
- Email parents and staff
- Assist in maintaining the Gator Wellness Center Resource Center: barcode resources check out materials using the online system and file resources
- Submit purchase orders for the Gator Wellness Center following DISD policy
- Fax requests to agencies
- Assist with documentation for grant-funded projects
- Attend meetings as needed
- Assist the Social Emotional Learning Specialist in contacting team members in crisis situations
- Assist in maintaining the Gator Wellness Center inventory
- Answer the Gator Wellness Center incoming calls and direct appropriately
- Originate draft distribute and file memos/letters or other documents that are essential to the operation of the Gator Wellness Center
- Maintain confidentiality both verbal and written
- Participate in staff development training department meetings and special events as assigned
- Assist with translation for Gator Wellness Center staff and counselors (if bilingual employee)
- Utilize the DISD time clock plus system daily
- Follow the work calendar provided by DISD
- Ability to commute between campuses/ESC
- Maintain contact log
- Other duties as assigned

- Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; Must be able to meet multiple demands from several people.
- Professional Dress: Dress must be clean neat in a manner appropriate for his or her assignment and in accordance with any additional standards established by his or her supervisor and approved by theSuperintendent. During work hours visible body piercings (except earrings) will not be allowed.
