Responsibilities
Provides spiritual assessments emotional support crisis intervention grief ministry and end-of-life care to patients and families.
Collaborates with hospital staff to address patients spiritual care needs and ensure consistent on-call coverage.
Leads or assists with liturgical services worship and religious rites as appropriate.
Engages in professional development hospital in-service programs and relevant community education efforts.
Builds and maintains relationships with local clergy and faith communities to support holistic patient care.
Participates in trauma responses and emergency codes as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- College graduate. Seminary or equivalent theological/ministerial education.
- 4 Units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of one year of healthcare experience preferred.
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons Certification by a professional chaplaincy organization within two years of hire.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to function effectively within team environment.
- Ability to exercise good judgment maintain interpersonal relationships adapt to change evaluate critically and think creatively and be able to organize and plan effectively.
- Able to accept different lifestyles cultures beliefs and values.
- Ability to maintain documentation of services provided.
- Must demonstrate knowledge and skills to respond to spiritual needs of patients families and employees.
