GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Nurse Anesthetist will primarily be responsible for administering anesthesia monitoring vital signs and overseeing patient recovery from anesthesia.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide professional and courteous service to all customers of Ogden Clinic. Customers include all Ogden Clinic patients affiliates providers administration employees co-workers insurance company representatives and all other vendor representatives.
2. Meet behavioral expectations and support the dignity of all persons. Also responsible for the stewardship of resources.
3. Ensure applicable regulatory requirements are complied with and follow guidelines that maintain safety for oneself patients visitors and co-workers.
4. Study understand and adhere to all Clinic Policies and Procedures and OSHA guidelines.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Develop and execute an effective anesthetic plan.
2. Obtains informed consent from patients for anesthesia procedures.
3. Manage the patients airway and respiratory status.
4. Monitor patients before during and after a medical procedure.
5. Responds to emergency situations by providing airway management administering emergency fluids or drugs or using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques.
6. Prepare/set up equipment layout supplies prepare necessary gases medications and administer anesthetics
7. Perform regular patient vitals and legibly record findings in the patient records.
8. Fully document procedure/sedation performed on patient.
9. Remain up-to-date with the latest advances in the anesthesia field including the introduction of new medical equipment and techniques.
OTHER DUTIES:
1. Additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned.
2. Maintain confidentiality of patient records and employee/co-worker information.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited nurse anesthesia program
2. Valid state CRNA Licensure.
3. Current ACLS and/or BLS as required by clinic or surgical center.
4. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Proficient in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Able to write routine reports and correspondence as well as communicate effectively with physician staff and patients.
5. REASONING SKILLS: Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written oral or diagram form. Also able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
6. Effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
7. General office equipment and procedure knowledge.

4. Must communicate effectively in a professional and courteous manner.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
1. Requires frequent talking hearing standing sitting and walking.
2. Requires use of hands and fingers.
3. Requires occasional kneeling stooping and crouching.
4. Must possess all physical abilities necessary to perform the job.
5. Noise level is moderate with constant conversations computers printers telephones etc.
