The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Computer Science or ICT at IGCSE level with the potential to support A-Level teaching depending on experience. You will:
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Computer Science or ICT aligned with Cambridge IGCSE curriculum standards
Assess student progress through coursework tests and practical projects
Create a classroom environment that promotes digital curiosity problem-solving and independent thinking
Support learners of all abilities including those for whom English is an additional language
Prepare students for IGCSE examinations ensuring academic readiness and confidence
Contribute to departmental planning resource development and curriculum review
Collaborate with colleagues and attend staff training meetings and school events
Uphold school safeguarding and wellbeing policies
Essential
A bachelors degree in Computer Science ICT or a related subject
A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE QTS Diploma in Teaching)
Minimum 2 years of full-time teaching experience
Strong knowledge and experience of the Cambridge curriculum specifically IGCSE Computer Science or ICT
Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written)
Ability to deliver theory and practical components effectively
Commitment to inclusive and student-centred teaching
Strong classroom management and organisational skills
Understanding of child safeguarding responsibilities
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Computer Science (Cambridge or similar)
Experience teaching in an international or bilingual school setting
Familiarity with supporting EAL learners
Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities such as coding clubs robotics or digital innovation initiatives
