Job Summary:
We are seeking two temporary Caretakers to provide professional caretaking and cleaning services at a school premises.
The role involves ensuring the building is opened and closed at designated times maintaining security overseeing daily cleaning duties and performing minor repairs and site maintenance tasks.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
Open and close the premises at designated times maintaining security and responding to emergency callouts as necessary.
Perform daily cleaning duties including floors internal glass and replenishment of supplies such as soap and towels.
Carry out basic handyperson duties such as minor repairs to furniture fixtures and fittings.
Monitor and maintain heating and lighting systems in line with energy conservation guidelines.
Receive and check goods and supplies distributing as necessary.
Test fire alarm systems check fire exits and maintain the fire log.
Ensure the disposal of refuse to designated points and maintain hygiene standards throughout the site.
Support risk management for outdoor activities and assist with school farm duties as required.
Act as key holder with responsibility for the security of the premises.
Maintain records and site diary relevant to caretaking and security functions.
Skills/Experience:
Experience working within a team and basic clerical or administrative tasks.
Knowledge of building security procedures including alarm setting and key holding.
Proven ability to carry out cleaning and caretaking duties efficiently.
Basic practical skills for minor repairs and site maintenance.
Understanding of health and safety requirements and willingness to promote equal opportunities.
Ability to work independently with good self-motivation and problem-solving skills.
Experience in an educational environment and with heating systems is desirable but not essential.
Basic Welsh language skills are desirable with training available if required.
