My client is a global trading house specialising in commodities markets.
To strengthen their team in Hamburg they are looking for a logistics professional with at least 8-10 years of this role you will be responsible for the disposition of the products the company deals with.
Planning of supply to ensure optimal delivery capability
Order processing (monitoring coordination and execution)
Planning of the logistics fleet and forwarding processes for road (trucks) and rail (wagons) as well as on inland waterways (barge)
Communication with customers freight forwarders and internal stakeholders
Organisation and monitoring of the flow of goods
Supporting the sales department in the timely disposition of products
Checking and posting incoming invoices for goods freight and various other invoices via our own trading system
Trade support such as preparation of outgoing invoices for all services and ancillary costs
Administrative contract control for purchase and sales contracts
Month-end closing work (5-4-3 day Count Down) preparation of pricing settlements reconciliation and checking for various locations with clarification of differences concerning open commitments and location related stock volumes
Complete understanding of all factors that influence profit and loss and exposure. And ability to translate traders strategy to operational plan. Part of this role might entail blending activities on different terminals
Requirements
Completed Bachelors degree or completed training in a renowned logistics company.
Min. 8 to 10 years of experience in a logistics company or trading house.
Experience as a team leader or manager of an operations team is beneficial but not compulsory
Organizational talent and ability to work under pressure
Ability to work independently with a structured approach
Advanced knowledge of English and German
Good communication skills with colleagues and external partners
Proficiency in Excel Word and PowerPoint (i.e. MS Office skills)
