This position reports to the Student Success Center Director in the School of Health Sciences and Wellness and is responsible for School retention efforts and academic advising. The Retention Coordinator is a SHSW liaison with UWSP Admissions. On a day-to-day basis the Retention Specialist is responsible for managing collaborative initiatives that impact outreach and recruitment retention and student success of undergraduates in the School of Health Sciences and Wellness. The work of this individual is highly complex and ever-changing to best meet the needs of students in various academic programs. The Retention Specialist collaborates and connects School college and campus constituents and external constituents to leverage program efforts and School initiatives. The Retention Specialist serves as the primary academic adviser to a select group of students and provides advising support when needed for students across the entire School.
