We are looking for a talented and experienced Sales and Delivery Consultant specializing in Workforce Rewards consulting to join our dynamic Career team based in San Francisco (preferred) or Seattle. This hybrid role requires working three days a week in a Mercer office or at a client site.

Senior Compensation Consultant

The Senior Compensation Consultant will require a strong sales focus to generate revenue through new and existing client partnerships participate in local marketing events and collaborate on internal sales efforts. This Consultant will also lead client work delivery manage teams for successful outcomes and contribute to Mercers intellectual capital that maintains its market leadership.

We will count on you to:

  • Business Development: Partner with other Senior Consultants and Client Managers to identify target organizations in the mid-to-large market for compensation services. Independently identify prospects in the market for compensation services; lead discussions with prospects and clients on Mercers compensation value proposition and service offerings; prepare proposals and present Mercers capabilities to a wide range of prospects and stakeholders; work to bring opportunities to successful close; negotiate final engagement terms; execute Statements of Work (SOWs) and engagement letters.

  • Project Delivery: Lead the delivery of compensation engagements including acting as overall program manager peer reviewer and day-to-day client contact. Manage project economics deliver on time and within budget; and manage delivery teams to ensure quality and value of all project deliverables for engagements. Develop delivery teams to build depth of subject matter expertise. Direct and oversee data compilation research and analysis performed by team members.

  • Contribution to Solution Area: Contribute to thought leadership sales pipeline methodology development and team working environment; be viewed as a leader and mentor to junior staff; and contribute to Mercers overall value proposition by building positive working relationships across the firm.

  • Manage teams: Structure direct review and interpret analyses performed by the project team; provide guidance coaching and feedback to team members; and oversee and direct work of junior staff as well as participate in the development process (evaluate coach mentor) less-experienced colleagues.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelors degree

  • Significant business development experience including lead generation and closing and the ability to meet or exceed goals

  • 8 years of consulting experience with large and/or mid-market organizations

  • Expertise in compensation strategy job architecture pay equity talent management mergers & acquisitions and human capital management technologies to support client reward programs

  • Ability to design innovative solutions for complex business issues

  • Proficiency in project financial scoping and proposal writing

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one anchor day per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $165500 to $331000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience skills training location certifications education and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case addition to the base salary this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
