PhDinCommunication History or other Arts discipline with specialization indigital cultures/digital humanities methodologies. This course requires expertise in digital literacy with knowledge of current issues debates and trends related to information and media literacy data literacy and algorithmic literacy. This includes experience working with a range of digital tools and methods to find evaluate and communicate information (search engines online databases citation management tools fact-checking websites) to prepare and manage datasets for analysis (spreadsheets OpenRefine Git and GitHub) undertaking various forms of data analysis and visualization (spreadsheets Nvivo Timeline JS ArcGIS ESRI Maps HTML Voyant Tools) required to critically evaluate algorithmic systems. Experience teaching these tools and leading collaborative digital research projects is required.
