The Assistant Commissioner Community Safety sets the strategic direction of state-wide fire prevention functions for industry and the community. The role is accountable for driving organisational capacity to prevent emergencies through the delivery of building regulatory functions developing fire research programs and driving change to industry and the community to reduce the impact of fire activities.

Essential Requirements:
NOTE: As a considered expert at Assistant Commissioner Rank when in an emergency operational situation the role determines the most appropriate course of action consistent with state-wide emergency plans during major/complex emergencies and disasters ensuring resource coordination and allocation of specialised services to the field.
