This position is located in theGreater New Orleans Area and provides physical security and police protection to state buildings.If selected you will be assigned to one of the following buildings: The New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA School) The New Orleans Office of Motor Vehicles or another state building as determined by the Capitol Detail Commander.
This position is responsible for providing traffic investigation and support services to aid the DPS Police - Capitol Detail in fulfilling its objectives and goals in public safety services. The incumbent must subscribe to and exemplify the core values of the Louisiana State Police: Loyalty Equity Accountability Duty Excellence Respect Selfless Service Honor Integrity and Personal Courage.
No experience or training is required.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
Possession of a current drivers license.
Willingness and ability to attain a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.
An applicant who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence or a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified by the hiring agency until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.
