Job Description

The Graduate Program in Nutrition and Dietetics at Hood College is seeking a highly organized and credentialed Registered Dietitian Nutritionist to serve as a Part-Time Coordinator. This 12-month 28- hour per week staff role supports the implementation of the ACEND accredited Future Education Model (FEM) program through a combination of teaching supervised experiential learning (SEL) coordination compliance oversight and stakeholder engagement. This position plays a critical role in strengthening the programs infrastructure ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and expanding community partnerships to support program growth.

Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Supervised Experiential Learning (SEL) Site Coordination (Approx. 30%)
  • Coordinate student placement logistics for SEL rotations including assignment tracking schedule planning and site communication.
  • Develop and maintain affiliation agreements and ensure all placements meet ACEND standards for appropriate supervision and learning opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with existing rotation sites ensuring continuous communication site readiness and timely resolution of challenges.
  • Identify evaluate and establish new SEL partnerships aligned with evolving curriculum needs including outreach to acute care community ambulatory care long term care industry foodservice and private practice settings.
  • Track preceptor training documentation and feedback; contribute to ongoing development of preceptor support materials.
Compliance and Accreditation Support (Approx. 30%)
  • Assist the Program Director in maintaining compliance with ACEND accreditation standards related to SEL competency tracking and student assessment.
  • Oversee onboarding and compliance for all students for SEL rotations
  • Support implementation and use of software programs to track student learning outcomes experiential hours and performance indicators.
  • Collect data for program improvement initiatives including the Continuous Program Improvement Plan (CPIP) and Program Evaluation Plan (PEP).
  • Monitor and maintain records of student completion of required hours evaluations and preceptor feedback to ensure timely reporting and compliance with graduation standards.
Instructional Responsibilities (Approximately 30%)
  • Teach up to 8 credits per academic year in graduate-level nutrition and dietetics courses.
  • Support student advising and development especially related to rotation preparedness professionalism and competencies.
  • Collaborate with program faculty to align course content and assessment tools with ACEND-required competencies.
Program and Community Engagement (Approx. 10%)
  • Attend planning meetings contribute to faculty development and strategic planning for program growth.
  • Represent the program at networking events and site visits to enhance community engagement and develop new practice partnerships.
  • Partner with other departments at Hood College to foster inter-professional collaboration and education.
Work Schedule
  • 28 hours per week flexible schedule with availability during core business
  • 12-month appointment with possibility of renewal based on funding

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.

  • Masters degree in Nutrition Dietetics Public Health Communications Business Health Administration or a health related field.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in clinical (preferable acute care) dietetics practice.
  • At least 1 year prior experience teaching or coordinating in higher education.
  • Familiarity with ACEND accreditation standards and competency-based education preferred.
  • Strong organizational communication and technology skills; experience with LMS and/or tracking systems such as Exxat is a plus.
    Technology Skills

    Proficient in MS Office tools (Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint) e-mail and Internet. Ability to learn new applications quickly including organization-wide information systems and department-specific software applications.

    Language Skills

    Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively provide information and positively respond to questions from both external and internal customers both in person and by phone. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

    Mathematical Skills

    Proficient with statistical and financial concepts. Must have the ability to apply those concepts to tracking projections goal setting and interpreting reports. Must be able to draw conclusions from reports and make cost effective decisions regarding programs.

    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a number of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form. Ability to work independently and as a member of a group in developing and executing project plans. Ability to work in theoretical arena and apply logic as appropriate.

    Physical Demands

    Compensation

    The expected salary range for this position ranges from $45000 to $50000 depending on circumstances including an applicants skills and qualifications certain degrees and certifications prior job experience training and other relevant factors. Hood College has provided a compensation range representing its good faith estimate of what the College may pay for the position at the time of posting.
