As a Quantitative Analytics Intern within PNCs Data Model & Analytics organization you will be based in Pittsburgh PA or Tysons VA.PNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position.Job Description
As a PNC Intern you will participate in a best-in-class internship program and jump start your career at a top U.S. bank. During this 10-week program you will work directly with PNCs team of quantitative analysts portfolio managers and data scientists. You will develop the tools you need to launch a successful career and complement your education with real-world experience.
The Quantitative Analytics Summer Internship Program provides interns the opportunity to experience PNCs Balance Sheet Analytics and Modeling (BSAM) organization. BSAM contains seasoned quantitative professionals that turn internal and external data into actionable recommendations for portfolio capital allocation and risk-based decisions. The groups act as trusted partners to PNCs lending and credit functions to provide analytical foresight and insight to make effective decisions related to risk appetite return profitable growth portfolio optimization and strategy. This group has seen tremendous growth recently as PNC has rapidly increased sophistication in modeling and analytics.
As a Quantitative Analytics intern you will have the opportunity to
- interact with PNCs senior management.
- learn from best-in-class quantitative analysts portfolio managers and data scientists; and
- experience first-hand the tools used to manage a top banks balance sheet.
Quantitative Analytics interns will be placed in one of the following areas for the duration of the internship:
- Consumer and Commercial Analytics
- Portfolio Management
- Model Development
- Credit Process Management
- Data Management
- Marketing Analytics
- Line of Business Analytics
The Quantitative Analytics Summer Internship Program is primarily offered in Pittsburgh PA and Tysons VA.

Participates as an intern in the PNC summer internship program.
- Performs or assists the core activities of the group by applying knowledge learned to drive business results (e.g. process support internal customer interaction or supporting internal projects). Works under supervision and may have limited approval and/or exception authority.
- Participates in social learning within the organization (e.g. identifies and networks with business representatives and peers participates in mentoring job shadowing and community outreach).
Required Education and Experience:
- Working toward bachelors degree preferably STEM or business majors (e.g. Analytics Data Science Mathematics Statistics Finance Economics Business). Other majors can be considered if there is a strong proven interest in analytics.
- Junior status.
- Minimum GPA 3.2.
- Experience in data analysis preferably using SQL Python R and/or Tableau.
