Import Customs Supervisor
Location: Northampton NN4
Hours: Monday to Friday 12:0021:00

Theyre currently seeking an Import Customs Supervisor to lead a team within their customs department. You dont need to come from a customs background experience is desirable but not essential. What matters most is your ability to manage and inspire a team handle disciplinaries and appraisals confidently and bring a hands-on supportive leadership style.

This is a people-first leadership role. Youll be given the autonomy to manage develop and guide your team ensuring quality and performance while maintaining a positive collaborative work environment.

Duties

  • Leading and developing a team of Customs Declarants
  • Managing people confidently and fairly handling disciplinaries appraisals and day-to-day support
  • Ensuring customs processes are compliant and timeframes are met
  • Supporting continuous improvement and maintaining high standards of accuracy and service
  • Liaising with internal departments and international partners

The Candidate

  • A proven track record in team leadership or supervisory roles
  • Experience within logistics transport or warehouse operations (essential)
  • Confident handling performance management appraisals and staff development
  • Customs experience is desirable but not essential full training can be provided
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt your approach
  • Calm under pressure and solution-focused
