The Banking Code Compliance Committee (BCCC) is currently seeking to appoint an Independent Chair to lead the Committee for a fixed term of three years with the option for re-appointment.
Typically in this role you will:
- Lead the BCCC in fulfilling its responsibilities under the Code and Charter ensuring it functions effectively.
- Set the agenda and preside over BCCC meetings.
- Facilitate productive focused and orderly discussions and decision-making allowing all members to contribute and be heard.
- Be the liaison between the BCCC and the Code secretariats management team.
- Represent the BCCC externally at industry events conferences stakeholder meetings or in the media.
- Act as the principal point of contact for stakeholders including the ABA AFCA and regulators including ASIC APRA and AUSTRAC.

Qualifications :
To be successful in this role youll come equipped with:
- Relevant experience and demonstrated success in senior leadership roles particularly in governance regulatory or compliance-focused positions in industry commerce law public administration or government service.
- Proven track record of leading boards committees or similar governance bodies with an emphasis on independent oversight and ethical decision-making.
- Extensive experience in engaging and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge and experience of financial services markets particularly banking would be desirable.
- Confident and superior communication to effectively represent the work of the BCCC in a range of events and forums.
- High level critical and analytical thinking to support the BCCC in setting and achieving its strategic goals.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to support a positive respectful and inclusive environment.
