Transportation Engineer

Location: Tampa or Greater Orlando FL

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Transportation Engineer to join their team in either the Tampa or greater Orlando area. This role offers the opportunity to support a wide range of transportation projects for state county and city agenciesspanning local roadways to arterial and highway systems. Responsibilities include the preparation of construction plans 3D model development engineering reports intersection and interchange studies and specifications. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator capable of collaborating with clients and representatives from federal state and local agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design roadway systems and develop 3D models

  • Prepare detailed maintenance of traffic (MOT) plans

  • Review and perform design computations plans and quantity estimates

  • Use CAD and design software to produce high-quality engineering documents

  • Coordinate with utility companies regulatory agencies and sub-consultants

  • Collaborate with a team of engineers and designers to execute projects

  • (Preferred) Manage project schedules and budgets as needed

  • Participate in client meetings both onsite and offsite

  • Ensure quality through adherence to internal QA/QC standards

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering

  • 510 years of transportation engineering experience preferably with FDOT projects

  • Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months

  • Proficient in MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer

  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills

Work Schedule & Flexibility:

Our client offers a hybrid work schedule for eligible rolestypically two days in-office two days remote and a flexible Friday. A 9/80 compressed workweek option is also available allowing every other Friday off.
