In this hybrid role of Human Factor and Test Engineers - We are seeking a Senior Use Condition Engineer passionate about user-centered design to support the development of next-generation ENT products and this role youll collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate the Voice of the Customer identify user needs define product requirements and help deliver intuitive high-quality solutions. Youll also contribute to the safety and usability of released products.
Key responsibilities include developing usability strategies conducting validation activities and translating user experience data into actionable insights for development and regulatory purposes. This role requires strong attention to detail and effective communication skills to accurately capture and relay user feedback.
As Senior Use Condition Engineer you will observe surgical ENT procedures maintain credentials and collect real-world use data to inform use specifications and testing strategies. Your work will directly influence design requirements and test methods to ensure products meet real-world needs and regulatory standards. Youll also support legacy documentation to aid internal initiatives.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Maintain and manage comprehensive spreadsheets and databases of field data collected from observed surgical cases to define use cases and real-world conditions.
Design develop and implement test methods protocols and equipment to simulate clinical environments.
Conduct in-field observations of ENT surgical procedures to support system requirements development and inform test engineering strategies.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Human Factors Systems Engineering and Verification teams to support both new product development and post-market product management.
Coordinate with internal teams to align on use conditions surgical case findings and environmental factors impacting product design.
Own and maintain use specification documentation to ensure accurate and up-to-date user requirement definitions.
Plan and coordinate testing activities including scheduling resource allocation and equipment needs for both standard and specialized devices.
Define test parameters and ensure proper execution of sample testing; specify and oversee specialized test procedures as required.
Analyze test data and recommend changes to procedures equipment or processes to improve product performance and reliability.
Lead testing efforts for customer-specific samples and specialized evaluations beyond routine testing capabilities.
Demonstrated experience in ethnographic research and contextual inquiry methods. Proficient in Power BI or similar tools for data collection visualization and analysis.
Location: Jacksonville FL (Onsite)
Ability to travel up to: 20% - 25% local travel.
Must Have (Minimum Requirements)

Bachelors degree in engineering required with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
OR advance degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications)
Solid understanding of medical device usability regulations and standards (e.g. FDA IEC 62366 ISO 14971).
Proficient in developing and authoring test protocols reports and usability documentation.
Experienced in ethnographic research and contextual inquiry including direct observation of surgical procedures.
Strong ability to merge creative thinking with analytical problem-solving to support innovative design development.
Proven track record in translating field research and surgical observations into actionable human interface requirements.
Collaborative and adaptable team player with a demonstrated ability to contribute to and influence cross-functional teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
Working knowledge of human anatomy and physiology particularly as it relates to ENT procedures and devices.
