The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for a CDL-Highway Striping Machine Operator in the Bozeman Division. The Striping Machine Operator performs a variety of work as a laborer equipment operator and truck driver. Operates various striping equipment in order to apply new or trace existing pavement makings on streets and highways. Calibrates equipment to ensure proper line width mil thickness retro-reflectivity and bead application rates. Notifies foreman when problems occur and adjusts cleans or resets equipment to ensure proper application.

- Required to perform the duties of this position are two years of experience in a highway maintenance environment.
This agency may use a training assignment. Employees in training assignments may be paid below the base pay established by the agency pay rules. Conditions of the training assignment will be stated in writing at the time of hire.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Requires a working knowledge of highway traffic striping equipment.
- Basic math computer skills record keeping and the ability to make estimates of materials needed. Requires the ability to drive a straight line at a steady speed for long distances.
