that leverage the UW-Madison School of Educations resources in support of community goals. Using the
expertise of faculty staff and community stakeholders PLACE sparks inspiration and connection to bring the
Wisconsin Idea to life.
The PLACE Event Manager reports to the Director of Business and Operations and will direct daily operations of
events monitoring the budget and/or supervising event planning staff to ensure that operations run efficiently
economically and in line with department goals and policy.
We are seeking a candidate who can independently manage events from start to finish including guiding
partners through the conception and design phase scheduling and running planning meetings sourcing and
contracting with venues and hotels working with catering and A/V companies arranging group travel and
managing budgets. The Event Manager will also act as the primary point of contact for attendees leading up to
events and be responsible for leading the setup and providing onsite support during events. Occasional night
and weekend work is required.

Minimum: $58000.00 annually
Commensurate with qualifications and experience. 2 years of experience in in-person and event planning and management
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The ability to think critically and strategically to solve problems
The ability to thrive working in a deadline-driven environment both independently and as part of a team
Experience planning for hybrid events
Experience using registration management software
Experience using project management software
Experience following established policies and procedures to purchase goods and services
An interest or background in the arts health and/or education
Bachelors Degree Preferred
