Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development:
- Design and implement engaging and effective lesson plans aligned with the schools ELA curriculum and standards.
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
- Deliver dynamic and interactive instruction to high school students.
- Foster critical thinking problem-solving skills and literacy among students
- Provide clear explanations of concepts and facilitate hands-on learning experiences when applicable.
- Assess student learning through various methods including quizzes tests and class participation.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth and development.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate with parents as needed.
- Establish a positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Enforce school policies and procedures while promoting a culture of respect and cooperation among students.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in education.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Bachelors degree.
- Previous teaching experience at the high school level is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Enthusiasm for teaching and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on students lives.
This is a part-time position approximately 16 hours per week.. Currently this schedule is Monday through Thursday - afternoons; and Friday - mornings. The specific schedule may be flexible depending on the schools needs and the candidates availability. Occasional participation in professional development and administrative meetings will be required.
