At Ronald McDonald House Charities British Columbia and Yukon (RMH BC)we envision a province where families stay close to their sick children. Today2 out of 3 Canadians live in a city or town without a childrens hospital. OurMission is to give sick children the healing power of being together withfamily.
As a champion of family-centered care we enable access to childrenshospitals by providing families with accommodation meals and wellnessprograms that support their emotional and physical well-being during one oflifes most difficult times.
Since opening our first 13-bedroom House in Vancouver in 1983 RMH BChas continued to grow to meet the rising need for 2014 we opened anew 73-bedroom House on the grounds of BC Childrens Hospital along with a2000 sq. ft. Ronald McDonald Family Room inside Surrey Memorial Hospital. In2025 we expanded once again opening a new Family Room at Royal InlandHospital in Kamloops bringing comfort care and a place to rest to familiesin the BC Interior.
As the second-largest Ronald McDonald House in Canada and one of thelargest in the world RMH BC is planning for even greater impact. With excitingexpansion plans underway we aim to double our capacity and impact across BCand the Yukon over the next five years ensuring even more families can stayclose when it matters most.
Ourteam is the backbone of this mission; serving families supporting volunteersand donors and helping spread awareness every single day.
About the Position
The Manager Major Gifts is instrumental tothe success of the House and contributes by building meaningful andlong-lasting relationships with individual and corporate donors capable ofgiving between $5000 and $25000. This externally focused role is responsiblefor identifying cultivating and soliciting new prospects while stewardingexisting donors to deepen their engagement and support for RMH BCs mission andexpansion goals.
This key position will work collaboratively withinthe RMH BC Communications and Development team as well as with colleaguesacross Family Services Finance and the national RMHC network.
