Job Description
Ravenswood School for Girls is a Uniting Church Prep to Year 12 day and boarding school for girls located on Sydneys North Shore. Ravenswood offers both the HSC and the IB Diploma Programme as well as the PYP in the Junior School. Our Teaching Internship Program provides an invaluable opportunity to work alongside experienced educators delivering high-quality teaching experiences and engaging with our students. This program aims to enrich your teaching practice while contributing to our school community.
- Our Teacher Internship Program is available for both undergraduate and postgraduate students who are completing their final year in 2026. The successful candidate will receive mentorship and guidance from experienced educators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the Schools onboarding and induction process.
- Contribute to academic wellbeing and co-curricular activities as directed.
- Engage in practical teaching experiences including spending one day per week at the School:
- Bachelors Degree: Terms I II and III with an unpaid internship during Term IV.
- Masters Degree: Terms I and II with an unpaid internship during Term III.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Enrolled full-time in the final year of either a Master of Teaching or Bachelor of Education program in 2026.
- Demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to the teaching profession.
- Possess a valid Working With Children Check First Aid and CPR qualifications.
- Hold a valid working visa or Australian citizenship.
Compensation:
Interns will be appointed as Teaching Assistants under the Independent Schools NSW (Professional and Operational Staff) CMEA 2025 at Classroom Support Level 4.1.
Following the conclusion of an internship Teaching Interns are encouraged to explore and apply for any available job opportunities at Ravenswood and to leverage the skills gained during the Internship to pursue further employment with us.
