Job Description

Margaret Sloss Center for Women & Gender Equity Assistant Director

Bachelors degree and 2 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with budget oversight and event coordination.

Job Description:

The Assistant Director holds a key professional role within the Margaret Sloss Center. In the absence of a Director this role provides leadership and oversight of day-to-day operations programming space use and student-facing services. The Assistant Director provides guidance to a full-time secretary and graduate assistant manages core program areas and ensures the Center maintains a welcoming and resource-rich environment that supports student wellbeing and engagement.

The successful candidate will have strong organizational problem-solving and communication skills. They will also have the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work independently.

This position will be classified as a Student Services Specialist II.

The position end date for this position will be 9 months from the hire date.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.


Level Guidelines
Intermediate-level position with solid professional and/or technical skills working under general supervision to achieve goals
Applies broad working knowledge of the principles of the field to moderately complex difficult and varied problems and issues
Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action and resolve problems
Responds to a broad range of inquiries and requests
May provide training and/or direction to lower-level staff
May lead projects of moderate scope and complexity
Provides guidance to students
