Saint Josephs University Philadelphia Clollege of Pharmacy is the home to the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The department is seeking 1 or more adjunct instructors to teach subjects related to drug discovery and developments such as pharmacology cell gene therapy pharmaceutics and more (lectures and labs) for the academic year 2025-2026.This job posting is a pooled position. The department may accept applications throughout the academic year. However they may only reach out to interview applicants when a need to fill a course has been identified.
The adjunct faculty willdevelop and deliver instructional materials such as lectures lab activities and assessments (including quizzes exams)
Connect lectures and assessments to well defined student learning outcomes (SLOs) which will be clearly shared with students
Hold weekly office hours to support students (or be available by appointment)
Create administer and grade assignments quizzes lab reports and exams
Maintain accurate records of student progress in the course through a well organized grade book in our Canvas learning management system
Required
Hold at least a Bachelors of Science or Masters degree in drug discovery or drug development or closely related fields (pharmacology pharmaceutical sciences pharmaceutics biological sciences or chemistry) (Ph.D. preferred)
Strong organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to effectively explain complex concepts to students and have a strong understanding of student learning outcomes
If teaching a lab previous experience related to the laboratory
Preferred
Attained PhD
Previous lab experience in a pharma or academic setting
