Job Description

  • Salary Package: $104219 including 15% superannuation & district allowance

About the Role

NLC is looking to recruit for the Ranger Coordinator located in Ngukurr with the Yugul Mangi Rangers. The position is responsible for working closely with CFC Program staff to ensure that the integration of Traditional Owner insights and WH&S standards are at the forefront of all land and sea management activities. Based at the Yugul Mangi Ranger Station this role leads and supervises the Yugul Mangi Ranger team and to implement their on-country work program and will be required to conduct in-depth consultations with Traditional Owners (TOs) to understand and prioritise their interests and goals for the Yugul Mangi work area and is also responsible for facilitating and coordinating the Yugul Mangi Group.

This Coordinator role is hands on and expected to lead coordinate and monitor the Ranger groups operational service outcomes and performance in accordance with Yugul Mangi ranger operational plans and NLC requirements. It also has a diverse array of key responsibilities and accountabilities across other key function such as: -

What You Will Bring:

You will bring strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills coupled with high-level interpersonal and cross-cultural communication abilities. Your problem-solving expertise experience in dispute resolution and community liaison will be essential along with your demonstrated experience in asset management and basic maintenance of equipment.

In addition to this you will have: -

  • Minimum Certificate IV level Tertiary qualifications (for example: Conservation and Land Management) in a relevant field or extensive relevant and equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years relevant supervisory experience leading a team Sound knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal land and sea management issues and opportunities and constraints affecting Aboriginal peoples involvement.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal land and sea management issues and opportunities and constraints affecting Aboriginal peoples involvement.
  • Sound computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software programs
  • A current NT drivers licence.
