Maintainsa safeeducationaland positive learning environment for participants.
Guides and supervises program participants and assigned staff through daily activities.
Assistsin planning and implementing a variety of preschool-age educational and recreational opportunities and associated lesson plans.
Maintains the schedule for and administers when necessary medications to participantsin accordance withState regulations and parental instructions.
Responsible for the set-up tear-down and clean-up of daily activities and programs.
Assistsinconflict and challenge resolution in relation to the program.
Handles disciplinary situations with participantsin accordance withState regulations and parental instructions.
Assistsin inventory management.
Complies withallDepartmental and Townpolicies and regulations as well as requirements for licensing by the State of Colorado.
Utilizes effective written and oral communication techniques to communicate with Town of Parker staff management and the public in a positive and professional manner.
Performs otherrelatedduties as assigned.
The requirements listed below are representative of the education experiencecertificationand/or licensure. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.
Requires anAssociatesDegree inEarlyChildhoodEducation or a related field supplemented by six (6) months of verifiable experience working with children in a child development program.
Possession of or the ability to obtain CPR First Aid and AED Certificationswithin thirty (30) days of hire.
The Town of Parker Fieldhouse Large Center Preschool program is licensed and regulated by the Colorado Department of Early Childhood. As a condition of employment candidates for this position must meet criteriaestablishedby Section 7.702.45 (P.50) of theRules and Regulations for Child Care Centers that provide less than 24-hour care as they are provided now or amended hereafter.
Employment Standards
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability.
Knowledge of relevant town state and federal laws regulations and policies.
Knowledge of the equipment facilities operations and techniques used inoperatinga licensed child-care facility.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices.
Skill in the supervision of preschool aged children.
Skill in the use of computers and various software programs.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to analyze situations carefully and adopt effective courses of action using problem-solving techniques.
Ability to ensure compliance with Town and Departmental policies procedures rules and regulations.
Ability to plan for short and long-range goals and implement techniques that will achieve those goals.
Ability to handle stressful situations.
Ability to create plan and implement a childcare curriculum for program agesthree (3)tofive(5).
Ability to complete a minimum of fifteen (15) hours of continuing education/training annually.
Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background including but not limited to CBI/FBI criminal record check Department of Social Services Central Registry check and a drug screen.

Tools & Equipment
Requires frequent use of general office equipmentand early childhood education center inventory.
Physical Demands
Requires regular sitting standing walking talking handling feeling or operating objects stooping kneeling crouching or crawling. Requires occasionalreaching with hands and arms climbing and balancing. Requires moderate physical activity with heavy lifting up to fifty (50) pounds. Requires close and distance vision acuity and the ability to adjust focus allowing a broad field of vision.
Environment
Work isfrequentlyperformed in a climate-controlled environment but employees holding this position may be exposed to extreme cold or heat and wetness/humidity. The noise level isusually highand may range from moderate to extreme.The employee may occasionally work with or around hazardous items or hazardous conditions such as mechanical equipment electrical equipment chemicals or radiant energy.
