What we want
The Learning Specialist - Scholastic Supervisor is responsible for facilitating and assessing the academic skills and abilities of an assigned group of student-athletes and providing academic skill development instruction. This individual will work with other Learning Services staff members as well as Scholastic Supervisors in implementing the academic support services at the Center for Student-Athlete Services.

Salary: Will be commensurate based on the selected hires education and experience.

Schedule: Work flexible non-traditional hours including some evenings weekends and holidays to complete assigned duties.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years Athletic Academic advising at collegiate high school or junior college level or athletic administration experience working with student-athletes at those same levels.
Required Special Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of word processing spreadsheet and database software. General knowledge of NCAA rules. Ability to comprehend oral and written instructions. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree.
Three to five years athletic academic advising at the collegiate high school or junior college level or athletics.
Responsibilities
Academic Support
Provide academic support to an assigned caseloadof student-athletes who have diagnosed learningdisabilities and/or accommodation needs.
Evaluatedocumentation to determine the best practices toprovide academic support to student-athletes.
Create goals and outcome objectives with assignedstudent-athletes based on assessment that can bemonitored over time.
Prepare daily summary reportsand updates for scholastic supervisors and staff.
Learning Center Coordination
Assist with daily supervision of assigned academic mentors. Act as a resource and provide training as needed for staff in the areas of learning development learning strategies and identification oflearning disabilities.
Evaluation and Training
Assist with the overall evaluation process of student-athletes including the initial screening anddiagnostic testing.
Communicate the academicneeds of assigned caseload of student-athletesfrequently with scholastic supervisors.
Compliance
Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with allapplicable NCAA Conference and University rulesand regulations.
Establishes and ensurescommunication and enforcement of rules andregulations for all staff members and studentworkers supervised.
