Job Description:
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for technical and administrative leadership of the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) and Continuous Improvement (e3) groups within Operations. The ME/e3 team supports the Hangar Dock & Line Manufacturing and Engineering teams at the L3Harris Waco site.
This individual will collaborate with management and subject matter experts to identify efficiency opportunities and implement strategies to excuete. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management and a proven track record of leading teams to success.
Essential Functions:
- Leads and directs team by providing direction on all facets of ME/e3.
- Responsibilities include work prioritization team briefings personnel development performance evaluation and succession planning.
- Partners with other organizations to create and execute improved manufacturing plans which drive measurable improvements
- Support a culture of continuous improvement Right the First Time Safety First audit ready and Policy & Security compliance
- Ability to delegate tasks manage resources effectively and drive team performance to achieve organizational objectives.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with both team members and senior management.
- Proven experience in operations processes such as production planning material movement process optimization and quality control.
- Familiarity with systems and techniques such as lean manufacturing six sigma or automated production systems.
- Experience in managing or supporting prototypes and low-volume production environments including optimizing workflows ensuringconsistent product quality and maintaining efficient throughput.
- Familiarity with automated systems supply chain management and scalabilitytechniques to meet production demands while minimizing downtime and costs.
- Strong understanding of development strategies.
- Experience with logistics/production process flows/factory floor layout
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals.
- Practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes projects tactics and employees within a team.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience leading and managing a team ofprofessionals.
- Experience with SAP and Solumina.
- Experience in operations metrics dashboard visualization development and refinement.
