Safety:
- Sets example by always wearing proper PPE
- Corrects operators that are not wearing proper PPE
- Reviews housekeeping and 5s within department and corrects issues as needed
- Ensures daily checklist and weekly safety topic are completed
- Informs supervisor of any known safety issues that need immediate attention (if not able to correct on their own)
- Addresses safety concerns in other departments if needed
Quality:
- Conducts daily checks on product online to ensure quality
- Ensures all hourly sheets are filled out properly and timely
- Ability to spot incorrect/flawed products before being packed out
- Ensure incorrect/flawed product is quarantined properly
- Addresses quality issues timely
- Ability to verify parts with BOM regardless of knowledge in department
Production:
- Ability to move people around in the department
- Makes sure everyone is working at all times and not fooling around
- Makes sure operators are working smarter not harder
- Pusher/Motivator for the operators
- Strives to hit scheduled daily goal
- Ability to work schedule for efficient changeovers and needed adjustments
- Ability to fill vacant positions or adjust the line as needed when running with fewer operators
- Strives every day to minimize downtime and maximize production

- As a leader you will:
- Know employees will be watching your actions to see what rules you follow or not follow.
- Will scrutinize the language you use and note the examples you set.
- Show your personal commitment to ethics and compliance with the things you say and do and the choices you make.
- Know there is never an acceptable excuse to compromise your ethical standards and values or act unethically.
- Realize if you bend the rules or even allow for that possibility your employees may feel it is okay for them to bend the rules also.
- Know the issues that are so risky that they must always be brought up to management such as:
- Bribery possession of weapons discrimination workplace harassment including sexual harassment and retaliation.
- Communicate clearly and avoid mixed messages or statements that could be misinterpreted.
- Example: If you tell people to do whatever it takes to achieve a certain result they might assume its fine to bend or even break the rules as long as they achieve the end results.
- Remind employees that no matter what the work pressure may be it is never acceptable to compromise our standards to achieve our goals.
- Know transparency is critical to trust:
- Talk with the team about things that have gone wrong and talk about how they might have done things differently.
- Look for opportunities to recognize employees who make good choices related to ethics and compliance.
- Share lessons learned so we can work together to avoid similar issues from happening in the future.
- Promote a Speak Up Culture
- Being an effective leader means fostering open communication and being a good listener.
