This is a Hybrid role the Software Engineering Team works from our London Office 2 days per week
The Team
The FUSE (Foundational User Experience) teams mission is to empower our product teams by providing a unified efficient and high-quality front-end ecosystem. We do this by owning and evolving the core UI/UX infrastructure including our design system and component libraries to create a framework enabling rapid development.
Were looking for a visionary Senior Front-End Ecosystem Engineer to join our growing team at Capital on Tap. This isnt your average front-end role; youll be at the heart of empowering our entire engineering department both internally and externally.
As a Senior Frontend Engineer youll play a pivotal role in shaping our development landscape. Youll architect build and maintain a best in class front-end ecosystem that enables our entire engineering department to efficiently build test and deploy front-end features in parallel. Your customers will include not only our external users but also your fellow Capital on Tap software engineers as you empower them with the tools and infrastructure they need to excel. Were seeking someone who can think holistically about the unique challenges of building commercial front-end applications within a large distributed global team and youll be keen to leverage modern tooling including AI wherever it can enhance our day-to-day development processes and outcomes. Finally youll mentor and share your expertise with our entire front-end community nurturing a best-in-class culture of front-end engineering across the department.

What Youll Do
- Architect and maintain systems and processes to enable multiple product engineering teams to build test and deploy web solutions in parallel.
- Work with the Design Team to design and implement a component library of standardised and reusable UI components to provide a cohesive and consistent UI experience for our customers.
- Collaborate with product engineering teams to prototype and A/B test new components to enable new and complex product features.
- Define and document coding and architectural guidelines and standards and disseminate those standards to the wider engineering team.
- Establish performance standards along with tools and techniques to enable the other Product Engineering teams to effectively monitor their systems as well as identify and rectify performance issues.
- Collaborate with the Security Team to foster a security first approach across Capital on Taps front-end community.

Were Looking For
- 3 years hands-on experience in React and Typescript with a strong focus on modern web development.
- Proven experience with for building server-rendered and static React applications.
- Solid understanding and experience using React-Query for data fetching and state management.
- Good testing practices in both Unit and Integration testing.
- Experience in using Agile development practices.
- A passion for learning new skills and technologies.
- A proactive supportive and collaborative team player.
