The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) requires one (1) Human Resources Professional with a specific interest and skill set in employee payroll and labour relations matters. This induvial is self-motivated and organized with exceptional strategic decision making communications and interpersonal skills. The Human Resources Professional is a strategic business leader responsible for leading the development and implementation of HR technology solutions within the Enterprise Commons project. This person plays a critical role within the EPS by providing HR & Payroll support and the overall HR strategy throughout the EC project development.
- Provide advice and guidance to Enterprise Commons (EC) Project team on the interpretation and application of relevant policies collective agreements legislation and other terms and conditions of employment.
- Working with the EC Project team to provide advice guidance and recommendations on all Human Resource & Payroll deliverables while investigating solutions and supporting business decisions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders including supervisors and employees contributing to a positive employee/labour relations environment.
- Author review and assist in the creation of deliverables such as business requirements conceptual prototyped designs process models (swim-lane) functional specifications detailed designs user guides support tools user documentation and user training in support of EC systems and processes.
- Assist from a Human Resource & Payroll perspective with a successful review in the creation of the EC project deliverables. Such as creating and executing test scripts creating user guides providing supervisor and employee support on the new tools and user training in support of EC systems and processes.
- Acting as the EPS liaison to City of Edmonton Edmonton Public Library and external Consultants.
- Participate in HR projects and project teams to develop new and existing initiatives programs and resources focused on improving organizational and employee effectiveness.
- Assisting to identify gaps in future processes and assistance developing resolutions.
- Develop a product roadmap that outlines the HR solutions to be delivered the timeline for delivery and the expected outcomes.
- Organize and facilitate meetings and/or workshop sessions with stakeholders.
- Ensure that HR data is managed effectively including data security and privacy data governance and data quality.
- Lead the implementation of HR solutions including project planning risk management and change management.
- Continuously evaluate and improve HR strategy to ensure that they remain relevant and effective.
- Other related duties as required.
- Diploma or degree in business administration/commerce with a major in human resources management or Payroll Leadership Professional or other related discipline.
- A combination of experience and education will be considered.
- CPHR Designation would be considered an asset.
- Minimum of five (5) years of diversified and progressive human resources experience.
- Project management development and implementation of application skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of attendance management performance management labour law and organizational effectiveness tools and practices.
- Communicates effectively with others both verbally and in writing to build open and respectful dialogue establishing understanding and commitment to initiatives.
- Experience administering and/or supporting end-to-end Human Resources and/or Payroll processes using PeopleSoft SAP Org Plus and CARM would be an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions using critical thinking experience and organizational values. Ensures a consistent decision-making approach across groups and a focus on future implications of decisions.
- Demonstrated commitment to continually learn embrace challenges and support the learning and development of others.
- Ability to establish strong collaborative working relationships with supervisors co-workers and external stakeholders.

- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism integrity and confidentiality.
- Proficiency with various Microsoft applications (Excel Word Outlook Teams PowerPoint Microsoft Visio Microsoft 365).
- Proficiency with various Google applications and work collaberation/management tools (Smartsheet).
Hours of Work: 36.9 hours per week Monday Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of variable hours of work program.
Salary Range: 95M Salary Grade: PT2 $99565.01 - $124454.34 (Annually).
