Job Description
Join the Northern Beaches Medical Centre team where we provide urgent high-quality care alongside the Emergency Department to help ease hospital demand. Were building a flexible pool of Specialist GPs who can step in when needed whether to cover sick or holiday leave or to help with our weekend roster. Regular weekend shifts are also available for those seeking ongoing work in a dynamic ED-adjacent environment.
Selection Criteria
- Vocationally Registered as a Specialist General Practitioner
- Unrestricted 19AB or doctors subject to section 19AB restrictions with and existing medical school affiliation
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Regular weekend shifts available and availability to fill in during the week when needed due to leave or illness.
Further Information
All GPs are credentialed as VMOs of Northern Beaches Hospital and are paid a sessional rate i.e. the GPs income is not linked to billing.
Patients present to Northern Beaches Medical Centre on a walk-in basis and are bulk-billed.
Northern Beaches Medical Centre is open 7 days per week.
High quality facility including on-site pathology/radiology pharmacy specialist rooms and ample parking.
Onsite nursing support.
No one day is the same working the Northern Beaches GP Medical Centre. You will be expected to independently manage the following clinical presentations:
Fractures sprains and lacerations
Acute wound and skin infections
Minor head injuries and lacerations
Acute illnesses such as respiratory infections and mild chest or abdominal pain in usually well patients
Minor eye emergencies such as conjunctivitis or a suspected foreign body

Our commitment to quality and safety for our patients staff and visitors is our highest priority. Applicants will be required to provide a current (12 months or less) National Police check and a NSW Working with Childrens Check prior to appointment and persons in patient contact roles will be required to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases prior to commencement.
