Primary Function of the Position
Under the direction of the Program Manager Community Empowerment the Community Advocate will provide comprehensive coordinated culturally specific supportive services to members of the local Southeast Asian and immigrant and refugee communities who need supportive services in COVID recovery or substance use prevention. This position will take a comprehensive approach to supporting participants including linking them to substance use mental health financial housing and counseling resources as well as guiding them in defining their success and creating their own paths as a source of health wellbeing and self-sufficiency. Additionally this position is responsible for the coordination of multigenerational family events aimed towards healing connectedness and mental wellbeing. This includes program planning creating curriculum providing direct service and collaborating with other team members as assigned.
The candidate must demonstrate a strong work ethic as well as integrity accountability and high performance in previous work experience. The best candidate for this position is someone who can align themselves to our outcomes driven culture and understands the unique challenges of an immigrant and refugee community. We are looking for someone who takes a person-centered approach and has a pulse on the trends of culturally specific family advocacy work and intersectional lens of violence.

Position Responsibilities
Program Development and ImplementationML1KH2
Coordinates program events that bring all participants and families together to strengthen relationships and connectedness.
Create culturally specific material for facilitation workshops and program specific work to share with participants and the community.
Regularly collect data and evaluations and update curriculum content to represent the current trends interests and feedback of participants and/or community members.
Facilitate one-on-one and group sessions using culturally appropriate and trauma-informed lens.
Ensure participant eligibility to receive services and to identify goals and needs in a timely manner.
Effectively track and manage program performance goals and outcomes to ensure success.
Effectively track and manage program budget.
Community Relationship Building and Program Recruitment
Build rapport with current participants including recruitment of new participants and families.
Participate in community outreach to support targeted population with program services and resources.
Develop and sustain working relationships with community partners; participate in community meetings outreach initiatives and events training and conferences assigned and/or required and collaborations.
Data Management and Reporting
Collect and track accurate participant data such as participant demographics services received and goals.
Understand and engage in the program evaluations process including data collection and entry demographic data and assist in completing program reports as necessary.
Other duties as assigned and as needed to further the impact and goals of the program and in alignment with HAPs mission.
Advocacy Work
Gather resources referral information and procedures necessary to assist participants in achieving their goals.
Provide person-centered trauma-informed direct services and case management to participants.
Support targeted population with substance use prevention mental health and resource navigation through a cultural lens.
Take accurate and appropriate steps to deal with crises/ emergencies with the goal of maintaining the safety ofparticipants and promoting self-sustainability.
