We are hiring: Nurse Practitioner Alternatives Passages

Starting Wage

  • Salary: $65.00/hour DOE

Job Type

  • Part-Time Non-Exempt

Schedule

  • Standard Hours: 10-15 hours per week to be discussed at interview/offer stage.

Training

  • Orientation: Alternatives provides thorough orientation and training for all new staff. You can expect a one-week orientation where you will learn all about Alternatives and be prepared for your role. This first week is scheduled from 9 AM to 5 PM at our Alternatives Training Center.

Requirements for position:

  • Accredited Nurse Practitioner with valid licensure.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Ability to pass a federal workplace drug screen and background check.
  • Ability to relate to offenders; previous corrections experience is a plus.
  • Preferred: 2 years of clinical experience in a pre-release/corrections facility.

What Will You Do in This Position

The Nurse Practitioner will provide primary care to incarcerated women in the Passages Womens Center. Oversee the delivery of medical care and ensure the needs are met for the incarcerated population. Oversee and administer MAT services to incarcerated population. All medical care must follow the guidelines of the Department of Corrections and Alternatives Inc.

  • Performs functions of examinations order laboratory tests develop and implement treatment plans and procedures.
  • Provide patient education and counseling to incarcerated population.
  • Order tests and initiate or perform selected diagnostics or procedures.
  • Assist in discharge planning and teaching.
  • Dictate discharge summary as directed.
  • Examine patients to obtain information about their physical condition.
  • Make tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of patients.
  • Visit and observe patients on rounds update charts and order therapy.
  • Maintain and review incarcerated medical records charts and other pertinent date.

This role requires great confidentiality care and coordination with other Agency departments.
