Position Description

Position Overview:

The Construction Utility Coordinator manages the relocation and protection of utility systems during construction projects serving as the primary point of contact between utility providers contractors and internal teams. They conduct site visits review design plans resolve conflicts and ensure smooth communication to prevent delays. This role also involves documenting progress participating in meetings and collaborating closely with engineering and construction teams to support the timely and efficient delivery of projects and mitigate risks related to utility infrastructure.

Job Duties:

  • Coordinating the relocation and protection of private and public utility systems such as electrical lines pipelines telecommunications water sewer and drainage during construction activities.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for utility providers contractors consultants and internal teams to promptly identify communicate and resolve utility conflicts or disruptions encountered on-site.
  • Conducting regular site visits to assess utility conditions verify relocation progress and address unforeseen utility conflicts to prevent construction delays.
  • Attend Bi-Weekly meetings to brief on relocation status.
  • Reviewing design plans and Utility Conflict Tables to anticipate potential issues and ensure alignment between design intent and field conditions.
  • Collaborating closely with the engineer and construction management teams to update relocation status and assist in making informed decisions that mitigate risks related to utility infrastructure.
  • Documenting all utility-related issues resolutions and communications and preparing reports to keep all stakeholders informed of progress and challenges.
  • Participating in department initiatives aimed at improving utility coordination processes and enhancing project delivery efficiency.
  • Assists with design activities by attending meetings reviewing documents coordinating activities ensuring all parties receive and review ongoing information and facilitating site visits.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

General Information

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:
Full-Time Regular 40 hours per week.
Subject to early mornings late evenings weekends and holidays at times depending upon the project or workload.

Salary: Commensurate with experience based on 26 pay periods.
