Job Description

Job Title: Principal Network Architect
Washington DC - Hybrid/Remote- Preferred local candidates from DMV areas
Long term Contract
Client: Federal

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Network Architect with a proven track record in leading large-scale federal network modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have served as the lead architect for complex IP migration projects-such as the FBIs nationwide infrastructure-and hold a CCIE Collaboration certification. This role demands deep expertise in integrating legacy systems with modern network architectures in secure mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and implementation of large-scale IP network modernization projects across federal agencies.
  • Architect end-to-end solutions that integrate legacy systems with modern scalable and secure network infrastructures.
  • Collaborate with federal stakeholders engineering teams and vendors to ensure alignment with mission objectives and compliance standards.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to network engineering teams.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for network transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure high availability performance and security of enterprise communications systems.
Required Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience as a lead architect in federal IP migration projects including FBI or similar agencies.
  • CCIE Collaboration certification (active).
  • Deep expertise in large-scale network modernization and legacy system integration.
  • Strong understanding of federal IT compliance standards (e.g. FISMA NIST FedRAMP).
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in secure high-stakes environments.
