GFL Environmental is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Warehouse Lead to join our growing team. The Warehouse Lead will be responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations ensuring efficient and accurate processing of goods and leading a team of warehouse associates. This role requires strong organizational skills attention to detail and the ability to effectively communicate and motivate a team.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision & Leadership:
- Direct and supervise a team of warehouse associates providing guidance training and performance feedback.
- Assign daily tasks and priorities to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to schedules.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment promoting teamwork and adherence to company values.
- Assist with onboarding new hires and ongoing training initiatives.
- Operational Excellence:
- Oversee receiving stocking picking packing and shipping operations ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with cycle counts and physical inventories to maintain accurate records.
- Ensure proper handling storage and organization of all warehouse materials and products.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize warehouse efficiency and reduce errors.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently (e.g. forklifts pallet jacks reach trucks) and ensure proper maintenance.
- Quality & Safety:
- Maintain a clean organized and safe warehouse environment in compliance with all company policies and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct regular safety checks and address any potential hazards promptly.
- Ensure all products are handled with care to prevent damage and maintain quality standards.
- Promote and enforce safe work practices among all team members.
- Communication & Reporting:
- Communicate effectively with warehouse management regarding operational status issues and performance.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports related to inventory shipments and team performance.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g. customer service logistics) to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Address and resolve operational issues or conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
