Environmental Manager
The primary purpose of this position is to assure site compliance with all applicable local state and federal environmental regulations for the Battleground Site. This role establishes programs to meet current and future compliance and carries out duties associated with ISO Responsible Care 14001 and Nouryon with plant operations and maintenance personnel to maintain compliance with environmental permit applications and permit is conducted using third party support which is managed by this role.
In your future role as Environmental Manager you will
- Manage sites environmental programs. Assure existing and future air regulatory compliance requirements including the preparation of the appropriate federal and state air construction and operating permit approvals.
- Assure existing and future wastewater regulatory compliance requirements affecting All North American PC Operations including the preparation of the appropriate waste water discharge permit applications and Baseline Monitoring Reports.
- Manage the collection labeling storing and disposal of all hazardous and non-hazardous solid waste streams. Manage reporting under the Annual Waste Summary and Waste Reduction Programs
- Manage the day-to-day operation/compliance of the Different Waste Water Service Providers and onsite Waste Treatment (Biosan) discharge along with Stormwater Outfall / SPCC plans and coordinate the resolution of non-compliant operations.
- Advise and consult with site personnel on the appropriate handling of environmental issues. Ensure all site MOC approvals meet Environmental Compliance requirements and changes are approved.
- Coordinate all CERCLA TCEQ LEPC HCPCD and GCWDA Emergency
- Release Notifications for North America and is the primary point of contact for Environmental Regulatory Agencies during site inspections and audits
- Prepare and submit various company and regulatory reports: Prepare the sites Air Emission Inventory for submittal to the TCEQ; Annual Waste Summaries for submittal to TCEQ; Tier II Hazardous Material Storage Amounts for submittal to the TCEQ; Toxic Release Inventory Form R Reports for submittal to the USEPA; Quarterly Drinking Water Quality Reports for submittal to TCEQ; assist in the preparation of the sites Annual Pretreatment Survey for submittal to POTW; and Nouryon Annual Environment Report.
- Manage the existing fugitive monitoring program including the coordination of quarterly monitoring and any follow-up repairs. Organize and maintain all associated fugitive monitoring records.
- Understand and help implement the sites Operating Policy and HSSE goals and objectives.
- Support and participate in on-going HSSE improvement activities and committees including VPP and BBS (Swagger).
- Be aware of potential health safety security and environmental impacts in area of responsibility and the consequences if an upset occurs.
- Understand and implement any parts of the Battleground Environmental Compliance Plan and Waste Management Plan that apply to area of responsibility.
- Participate in the sites on-going Pollution Prevention Process.
- Understand and help implement the sites Quality Policy Quality goals and objectives and the Quality Improvement Process (MTQ).
- Be fully aware of your specific quality assurance responsibilities.
- Be familiar with site wide document control internal quality audits corrective action non-conforming product and record keeping procedures.
- Be sure employees under supervision if applicable are aware of and are adequately trained in quality procedures.
We believe you bring
- B.S. Environmental Engineering or other equivalent engineering degree
- Experience: 8 years chemical plant environmental experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of US and state environmental laws and regulations
- Must be able to read write and communicate in English
- Must be able to wear FRCs steel toed boots hard hat and safety glasses and be able to go into a plant environment
- Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to interact with employees at all levels of the organization (operators to senior managers) as well as maintain relationships with external government agencies.
