- The salary will be based on the German E 13 TV-L scale (100%) if terms and conditions under collective bargaining law are fulfilled

Your role:
- We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to lead evolutionary genomic metagenomic and/or functional analyses of human gut bacterial communities and species
- The project will involve the use and development of computational (potentially experimental) tools to analyse the evolution and function of bacterial features at different scales from bacterial cellular components to strain community compositions
- The candidate will leverage data from worldwide and clinical cohorts
- We will discuss together on how to best design a project that will pursue this research agenda while also fits with the career objectives of the fellow
Your profile:
- We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a Ph.D in microbiome genomics host-microbe interaction microbiology ecology & evolution or a related field
- Candidates with an M.D. interested in pursuing an academic path are greatly encouraged to apply
- A strong background in bioinformatics including experience with the analysis of genomics and/or NGS data and/or strong expertise in culturomics and microbiology are desired
- Additional expertise in systems biology and/or statistics is a plus
- Fluency in English (especially for oral communication and paper writing) is required
