About the role

A fixed base opportunity currently exists for an Aircrew Officer to join our Aviation & Critical Services team in LaTrobe Valley supporting our operations in Ambulance Victoria.

As part of this role you will:

  • Maintain flying currency and conduct safe flight operations complying with CASR contractual and company policies and procedures.
  • Report promptly on all operations and maintenance deficiencies.
  • Complete pre-flight and post-flight documentation.
  • Interact successfully with aircrew client staff health staff and stakeholders.
  • Operate safely and efficiently in a small team environment.
  • Assist the medical team in providing critical interventions patient management and care.
  • Provide accurate visual observation and information to the Pilot of flight relevant data including clearances personnel movements and flight safety related issues.
  • Maintain readiness of operational role equipment.
  • Perform the duties of an Aircrew Officer/Winch Operator during HEMS and SAR missions.
  • Assist with the ongoing maintenance and inspection of base and role equipment.
  • Conduct aircraft flight preparation and post-flight husbandry.
  • Ensure security and safe configuration of cabin and equipment.
  • Remain current in medical assistant skills; and
  • Assist with medical equipment readiness and custodial duties within ability.
