Summary of Job Duties:

The Associate Director for Career Connections is responsible for management facilitation marketing and assessment of all career events for Walton Career Connections. The position will be responsible for innovative relevant career services programming to address career management competencies. Additionally the Associate Director will manage the Career Closet providing students with professional attire and lead the Walton Career Connections Ambassadors program. The position coordinates all on-campus interviews ensuring a smooth experience for employers and students and manages the Handshake platform for Walton students. A critical function of the role is to assess program effectiveness through data analysis and feedback using insights to continuously improve offerings and demonstrate impact. This includes analyzing student and employer feedback event attendance and Handshake engagement data to identify trends and measure the success of career programming. The Associate Director will use these insights to coordinate with the Career Connections and Student Success units to refine event formats enhance marketing strategies and optimize student engagement.

Regular non-disruptive and in-person reliable attendance is an essential job duty as well as the ability to create and maintain collegial harmonious working relationships with others. This position will require office hours of 8am-5pm Monday-Friday with in-person support of programming/events during office hours and occasionally nights and weekends.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least two years of experience working with students in a higher education setting

  • Demonstrated experience working independently and collaboratively with teams

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal organizational and administrative skills

  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective presentations and speak confidently to large audiences

  • Demonstrated strong computer skills (Microsoft Word Excel PPT Zoom etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in higher education counseling or related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • One year of experience working in Career Services or Student Success

  • One year of supervision experience

  • Experience working with companies and/or working in a corporate setting
