About the Opportunity

Metcash is on the lookout for a highly organised and motivated Trade Activation Assistant to support the strategic execution of trade and promotional initiatives across our retail network. This is your chance to step into a role that connects insight strategy and execution and make a real difference to the performance of our retailers.

Reporting to the Senior Trade Activation Manager youll assist in crafting competitive activation strategies compiling performance reports and managing key admin functions. Your ability to stay on top of multiple priorities and communicate effectively will help ensure the smooth delivery of campaigns that drive results.

This role is ideal for someone with a background in retail supplier side trade activation or merchandising looking to grow within a fast-moving and supportive environment. At Metcash we value initiative collaboration and people who want to be part of something bigger.

In this Role

  • Implement strategic initiatives and ensure execution of National and State programs across delegated categories
  • Use market insights and analytics to maximise sales manage gross profit and develop competitive activation strategies
  • Analyse and report on product and promotional performance to inform decision-making and drive growth
  • Develop and manage retailer initiatives that align with customer demographics and anticipate market needs
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships with strategic customers manufacturers and key stakeholders
  • Deliver on agreed sales performance measurements while minimising write-offs and wastage.
  • Ensure compliance with OH&S Chain of Responsibility Food Safety and other relevant legislation and company policies
  • Perform and coordinate administrative duties to support the execution of trade activation plans.

Youre Likely a Match If

  • Proven experience in the merchandising or retail or FMCG industry with strong analytical and organisational abilities
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships
  • Ability to analyse issues solve problems and execute tasks efficiently in fast-paced environments
  • Adaptable and resilient able to multitask and perform under pressure while maintaining high standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant tools to support reporting planning and execution
