Description

SUMMARY

Responsible for functional areas of theDepartment of Energy (DOE) Waste Treatment Plant (WTP) and Tank Farms (TF) including startup testing commissioning readiness operations and maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the TF is operating safely and the WTP safety programs are developed to support construction start-up and commissioning.
  • Evaluate industrial hygiene program documents plans procedures and processes to ensure compliance with regulations and requirements.
  • Ensure that industrial hygiene program requirements are implemented at TF and WTP.
  • Support ORP (Office of River Protection) interface with RL (Richland Operations Office) on medical programs and the interface with TF contractor activities. Perform oversight of WRPS (Washington River Protection Solutions) IH (Industrial Hygiene) exposure assessment data provided to medical providers for compliance with requirements and facilitate responses to questions resulting from the data.
  • Perform oversight of WRPS IH and vapor program activities to ensure compliance with contractual requirements to establish comprehensive TF vapor program.
  • Provide technical support to ORP to manage the Vapor Management Expert Panel and support IH interface with ORP staff.
  • Provide support to WTP and TF management on an as needed basis such as supporting activity milestone reviews assessing the contractors performance assurance program and performing other engineering and quality related oversight activities to ensure the contractor is meeting contract requirements.
  • Conduct field walk downs to ensure facilities are meeting industrial hygiene requirements and procedures.
  • Review documents assessments procedures etc. to ensure they adequately support industrial hygiene program development and implementation at site facilities and readiness programs.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelors degree in engineering science or business management; or in lieu of a degree an accredited high school certificate plus eight (8) years of specialized experience in engineering science or business management in addition to the requisite experience. Additionally an MS/MA or PhD in a relevant field may substitute for two (2) and five (5) years of experience respectively.
  • Ten (10) years of directly applicable successful experience consulting or contributing on complex projects including providing strategic management technical or business assistance to significant projects or programs in a senior capacity and/or as a consultant.
  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to successfully communicate with a diverse range of people from various levels and organizations resulting in an unimpeded passage of information as to not cause delays in progress.
  • Communication and interface skills; ability to elicit information to utilize in development of products and provision of support.

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in both an office setting and outdoors in all types of weather conditions. May operate in an environment where there is potential exposure to industrial settings and may be exposed to sharp objects some heat loud noise chemicals and vibration. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of people in different functions personalities and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Standing occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes glasses gloves or hard hats. May require working exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable important to use hearing protection. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS PACKAGE

  • Pay range: $150000to $200000per year.
